Health and Safety

CASSS is committed to protecting its attendees, participants, and staff members to the highest degree possible when attending our conferences. To ensure we provide a safe environment, CASSS strongly encourages COVID-19 vaccinations, and all other routine vaccinations to protect you from infectious diseases, serious illness, and hospitalization. CASSS will follow guidances established by the facility hosting the conference and/or local and state health authorities in which the conference is located.

For the safety of all attendees, we expect everyone to take everyday preventive actions prior to, and during the conference, to stay safe and healthy. These actions include, but are not limited to:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • If you are sick, limit contact with others as much as possible to keep from infecting them.
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
  • Wash your hands often.

Wearing a face mask throughout hotel common space and conference designated areas is recommended but not required.

If you tested positive for COVID-19, have been directly exposed to the virus, or exhibit any symptoms of the COVID-19 virus, you should isolate and not attend the in-person conference.

CASSS will follow local guidelines, including the current measures from the Maryland Department of Health: https://health.maryland.gov/COVID/Pages/default.aspx

CASSS is committed to monitoring the local status for in-person conferences and will update our guidelines as necessary. Registrants will be informed about any changes through various communication channels, including email and website, as needed.

If you have any other questions, please contact the CASSS office at 510-428-0740.
