Did you know that every 3 minutes, someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with a blood cancer? Although they are the 3rd leading cause of cancer deaths in the U.S. and more than 1.3 million Americans are living with or in remission from a blood cancer, many don't know the impact of the blood cancers - leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. September is observed as Blood Cancer Awareness Month to raise awareness and funds for research. Here's what you can do:
- Regular check-ups
- Keep tabs on your health and your name off the patient list.
- Donate
- You can make a direct donation to the American Association of Cancer Research or to your local hospitals.
- Research
- Expand your knowledge with the causes, symptoms, and treatments. Search our Papers and Presentations for resources related to blood cancer.
- Spread the word
- Highlight awareness on social media and tag your social posts with #FightBloodCancer.
