Volunteers are the Power of CASSS

Volunteer opportunities with CASSS range from short-term volunteer projects to committees, task forces, and board service. With every new volunteer, CASSS grows more energized, more diverse and inclusive, and better equipped to reach our mission.

Volunteer opportunities become available every quarter. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, make sure to check the list below every few months.

Mass Spectrometry and Higher Order Structure (HOS) Call for Volunteers

CE Pharm Call for Roundtable Volunteers

CE in the Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical IndustiresAre you planning to attend the CE Pharm Symposium and interested in getting more involved? Engage directly with your peers by volunteering as a scribe or facilitator for roundtable discussions. This opportunity allows you to make meaningful connections with our members and participate in open discussions on important scientific topics. Build the conversation today. WCBP Call for Volunteers

WCBP January 28-30 2025 Washington D.C.Are you planning to attend the WCBP Symposium and interested in getting more involved? Help build the conversation to address the role of current and emerging CMC analytical technology among evolving US and international regulatory perspectives by participating in one of the many volunteer opportunities available. The following opportunities will be available:

  • Diverse Voices: Sunrise Chats Presenters
    • We are seeking a diverse group of early-, mid-, and late-career professionals to share stories about the experiences that shaped their career path. This is an all-inclusive session designed to inspire and encourage the audience through the presenter’s use of personal anecdotes and storytelling. 
  • Mini-case Facilitators
    • Co-facilitators are assigned to collaborate with each other, write an abstract, and develop 2-5 discussion questions for the assigned topic. Typically, 2-3 total co-facilitators present the case study and discuss it with the attendees. 
  • Mobile App Help Desk 
    • The mobile app desk volunteers will be trained in how to use and navigate the Symposium mobile app. From there, they will assist the CASSS liaisons in answering attendees’ questions regarding the mobile app. 
  • Roundtable Scribes
    • During the roundtable session, scribes are tasked with taking notes to document the roundtable discussion. A week after the symposium concludes, the scribes will send their notes to the CASSS liaison for posting on the CASSS website.
  • Roundtable Facilitators
    • Facilitators are assigned to write an abstract and 2-5 discussion questions for the table topic. During the roundtable session, the facilitator will lead the discussion.
  • Wellness Walk Facilitator *NEW*
    • Serve as the group lead and guide a small group of attendees on a walk around the Mayflower Hotel and the surrounding area during one of the organized walking sessions.
  • Workshop Co-Lead
    • Co-leaders will work together to define the topic and scope of their session abstract and are expected to use discussion questions to develop their workshop agenda, abstract, and discussion questions. Typically, there are four (4) Co-Leads assigned to each topic, and there will be 12 topics total in the WCBP 2025 program.

Note: Volunteers are expected to attend the Symposium in-person.

Couch Chats Call for Facilitators

Couch chats are informal and interactive, small group discussion opportunities that focus on problem-solving through collaboration with peers. With the intent of keeping you engaged beyond our in-person meetings, we start with the question, "What's Keeping You Up at Night?" The topics can vary from scientific to workforce development issues.
