Q. What was your motivation to volunteer with CASSS?
It was a great way to get connected with many talented peers working on similar technologies and issues - I have learned so much from them over the last several years!
Q. What do you do to relax? Do you have any hobbies?
Running - it is a great way to relax, relieve stress, and stay healthy. I organize a morning run every year at WCBP, so contact me if you are interested. I also like to read and watch baseball.
Q. What's your favorite type of food or special dish you cook? Why?
I like Italian food (mainly pasta dishes). My wife is Italian (and my kids are half Italian), so I have enjoyed many great home-cooked meals from my wife and her family.
Q. What is your favorite movie, tv show, music, or book?
I have many favorite books, movies, and tv shows - I like to listen to classic rock, blues, and folk music the most.
Q. What famous person (dead or alive) would you choose to have dinner with? Why?
John Muir - I read some of his books and love his perspective on our relationship to nature and preservation.
Q. What’s your favorite travel experience?
Yellowstone National Park - it has a bit of everything: great scenery, unique wildlife, and fascinating geology - including the fact that it sits on a volcano.
Q. What would people be surprised to know about you?
I am one of 30 million people in the US with a rare disease - so keep working everyone!
Q. How did you get inspired to go into science/biotech/pharma industry?
I had a great high school chemistry teacher - Mr. Bennet.
Q. If you did anything other than your current occupation, what would it be?
I would probably teach science.
