
The Member Spotlight is an ongoing Q&A series focused on getting to know the CASSS community. Today’s spotlight shines on Heidi Zhang, Head of Tech Ops at Tune Therapeutics.
Heidi has participated on many CASSS Committees over the years, including Cell and Gene Therapy Products (CGTP), CMC Strategy Forum North America, and WCBP. Q. What was your motivation to volunteer with CASSS?
Giving back to a community that taught me so much about drug development and collaboration!
Q. What do you do to relax? Do you have any hobbies?
Yoga, swimming, and growing potatoes.
Q. What's your favorite type of food or special dish you cook? Why?
Anything that is made with thoughts and care.
Q. What is your favorite movie, tv show, music, or book?
Some recent favorite books include All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr, The Seven Good Years by Etgar Keret, and The Code Breaker by Walter Isaacson.
Q. What famous person (dead or alive) would you choose to have dinner with? Why?
The Obamas, I'm interested in their views on the world we live in today and actions that one can take to make things better.
Q. What’s your favorite travel experience?
Traveling and experiencing the world with my daughters.
Q. What would people be surprised to know about you?
I am turning into an introvert according to the most recent MBTI test!
Q. How did you get inspired to go into science/biotech/pharma industry?
Learning about the impact therapeutics have on the lives of patients and their communities.
Q. If you did anything other than your current occupation, what would it be?
Sustainable architect, I'm still interested in becoming one someday.
