Q. What was your motivation to volunteer with CASSS?
My motivation was based on my passion for CMC science, most specifically in the biologics drug space. CASSS is the sole industry organization that has CMC science as its principle foundation - driving forward innovations in products that make a real difference in human healthcare.
Q. What do you do to relax? Do you have any hobbies?
I live in Southern California, so surf as often as I can. Second to that, my spouse and I are huge tennis fans. We also have five (5) grandkids living very close by - not sure that's 'relaxing' but most certainly a great joy to be part of their lives.
Q. What's your favorite type of food or special dish you cook? Why?
Tri Tip on the grill! This grill item is a staple in the area of So Cal I am in, along with Santa Maria bean, garlic bread, etc.
Q. What is your favorite movie, tv show, music, or book?
Favorite movie - Star Wars (the originals) and of course, Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
Q. What famous person (dead or alive) would you choose to have dinner with? Why?
Lincoln - one of the greatest leaders of all time.
Q. What’s your favorite travel experience?
I have had the privilege to travel globally with the biotech industry. Biggest travel surprise was Singapore. Awesome food, people, and city.
Q. What would people be surprised to know about you?
One aspect that might be surprising is I am pretty good gardener, especially with my spouse's roses!
Q. How did you get inspired to go into science/biotech/pharma industry?
Fell into it as a chemist straight out of school.
Q. If you did anything other than your current occupation, what would it be?
Hard question - I would really say I love what I do.
